Authentication

Detailed information is available on the eHealth platform, see External Links#ehealth_sts.

To gain access to the functionality within Vitalink, the end user must  authenticate himself. This occurs on the basis of the ‘security token’ that is delivered by the ‘Secured Token Service’ (STS) of the eHealth platform. This token will be implemented within the ‘Vitalink Gateway’. It is the task of the end user to ensure that the ‘security token’ is valid. If this is not the case, access to Vitalink will be rejected and a new token must be requested. To create a ‘security token’ via STS the end user must make use of his/her electronic identity card and/or an eHealth platform certificate.
